I am an expert in the pictorial representation of aerial power and its effects on landscape, which include such topics as conflict, climate change, surveillance, and social justice. I can write confidently on both the technologies and cultures of surveillance at large and small scale, revealing that the enigmatic articulations of satellites and algorithms are not so far divided. With a background in visual art and creative writing, and a Humanities Ph.D., I have a breadth of writing that appeals to both popular and academic audiences. I possess a diverse range of skills valuable to the contexts of human rights, visual investigations, and higher education. For the past fifteen years, I have been a frequent contributor to Border Crossings: A Magazine for the Arts. Recent publications include articles in Real Life Magazine and Esse, and a co-authored chapter with Dr. Sébastien Caquard (Concordia) entitled “From Earthrise to Google Earth: The Vanishing of of the Vanishing Point” in Artistic Approaches to Cultural Mapping: Activating Imaginaries and Means of Knowing (Routledge). I am based in Tiohtià:ke/Montréal. |
